Anas's Joy by devsash

Reianas Starmane (aka Anas) is my World of Warcraft character. He's a fashion designer and a tailor (formerly a priest of Elune).

1) He prefers to be referred to as "Anas" rather than "Rei" because "Rei" is a feminine aspect of his name. His mother, Ysil'lethea Starmane, was hoping for a girlchild whom she wanted to name Sha'reiann. When a son was born to her instead, she simply gave him a slightly more masculinised version of the same name.

2) Anas is 500 years old and has centuries of experience at designing and tailoring clothes. He specialises in robes and dressmaking. He keeps a sketchbook for the various designs he comes up with and offers it regularly to customers for browsing. Despite this, he can and does work on custom designed pieces as well.

3) Anas is the youngest in his family. He has twin older sisters named Shuvi and Sheronda, both priestesses of Elune. The Starmanes of Winterspring are known for producing powerful priestesses and Anas's mother wanted more daughters to continue their legacy. She was so disappointed at Anas's birth that she decided not to have any more children. Instead, she focused all her attention on training Shuvi and Sheronda in their duties.

4) Anas rarely talks about his father, a druid named Rovar Forestsong, though he loves the man dearly. This is due to habit, since his mother forbade any mention of his father's name in the Starmane household. Anas's dark hair and complexion (as well as his imposing height) come from his father. His sisters (who were fathered by another Kaldorei man) take after their fair-skinned, petite mother.

5) Anas plays a musical instrument, a type of lute called a sape (pronounced "SUH-pay"). He was taught by his father, who used their lessons as bonding time with his son. Anas has a sape of his own, which he cherishes and plays on very rare occasions. He's reasonably good at it, though he doesn't really have much of a singing voice so he never sings along to whatever song he's playing.

6) Anas is a wonderful artist and likes to sketch for leisure. He usually carries around a personal sketchbook filled with beautiful sketches of people, places, plants and animals. A recurring focus of his personal art is his mate and fiancé, Meheaaris.

7) Anas is a kind, gentle soul who suffers from anxiety. It causes him to overthink stuff and, in severely stressful conditions, even lead to debilitating panic attacks.

8) Anas works at Larson Clothiers in the Mage Quarter in Stormwind City, along with a Void Elf seamstress named Niquisse Greythorn. Anas and Niqi are very close. He thinks of her as a little sister and looks out for her like his own.

If you'd like to read more about Anas and his adventures, you can find a collection of them here.

Anas's Joy by devsash

Reianas Starmane (aka Anas) is my rp character from World of Warcraft. He's a fashion designer and tailor who was once a priest.

1) He prefers to be called "Anas" instead of "Rei" because "Rei" sounds like a girl's name. His mother, Ysil'lethea Starmane, wanted another girlchild whom she intended to name Sha'reiann. When her son was born instead, she was bitterly disappointed. The name she gave him, Reianas, is a version of the same name with a masculine element, though it still sounds more feminine than most Kaldorei names.

2) Anas is 500 years old. He was a tailor for centuries and is very experienced in his craft. He specialises in robes and dressmaking.

3) Anas works at Larson Clothiers in the Mage Quarter in Stormwind City, along with a young Void Elf seamstress named Niquisse Greythorn. The duo are very close. Anas regards her as a younger sister and always looks out for her.

4) Anas is the youngest child in his family. He has twin older sisters named Shuvi and Sheronda Starmane, both powerful priestesses of Elune. His mother mostly neglected him in his childhood, so he ended up being raised by his sisters instead.

5) Anas rarely speaks of his father, a druid named Rovar Forestreach, though he loves the man dearly and regularly corresponds with him. This is out of habit, for his mother forbade any mention of his father's name in their home. Anas's dark hair and complexion (as well as his height) come from his father. His sisters, who were fathered by a different man, look more like their fair-skinned, petite mother.

6) Anas plays a musical instrument, a type of lute called a sape (pronounced "SUH-pay") and he's pretty good at it. He was taught by his father, who wanted a way to bond with his son. Rovar even gave Anas a sape for his own, which he cherishes and maintains lovingly. Anas doesn't really have a good singing voice though, so he doesn't sing along to the songs he plays.

7) Anas is a wonderful artist. He usually carries a personal sketchbook around with him for design ideas when inspiration hits unexpectedly. He would later refine these designs and transfer them to the sketchbook in the shop, allowing him to offer customers more fully realised designs. His personal sketchbook is also filled with beautiful sketches of people, animals and places, though a recurrent focus of his art is his mate and fiancé, Meheaaris.

8) Anas is a warm and gentle soul who struggles with anxiety. Though it's rarely crippling, it does make him overthink many things and, in intensely stressful situations, can even lead to debilitating panic attacks.

On 17th July 2014, Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 was shot down over the Ukraine while en route to Kuala Lumpur from Amsterdam, killing all 298 passengers on board. Today, a month after the tragedy, the first bodies of the Malaysian victims were returned home safely as the nation observes a day of mourning. The national flag is flown at half-mast and a minute of silence is observed throughout the country in honour of the fallen. It has been a very sad year for Malaysia.

Please join me in saying a prayer for all the souls lost on board the flight and for their loved ones left behind. To my fallen brothers and sisters, welcome home. Rest well, for now you are amongst family.

A Long Overdue Update...

Well, it's been ages since I actually had enough time to post an update here on DA.

For starters, I've switched my course from Medicine to Dentistry. Yeah, I know, it's really surprising, but I'd given it a lot of serious thought. Well, let's just say that I didn't want a job that would leave me with practically no time for family.

Another thing: I'm now studying in Indonesia. In fact, I've only recently returned home for Christmas and New Year hols. Some of the things that I found I missed the most are: Malaysian food, Malaysian radio and free time XD

Yep, I'm perfectly serious about missing free time. Projects, research, assignments, homework and exams are always 'round the corner, so life's been pretty hectic. In fact, life's been so hectic that I've hardly had time to draw much :(

And last but not least, I've watched Disney's latest animated film "Rapunzel" twice in the cinema! The first time was in Indonesia and the 2nd time was today in Malaysia :woohoo: I hear it's been alternately titled "Tangled" or "Rapunzel: A Tangled Tale", but I'm really glad that both the versions in Malaysia and Indonesia were simply titled "Rapunzel".

My fave moment from the movie's gotta be this one:
Flynn's not freaking out by tallchaitealatte
It's been a really long while since I'd seen a movie made by Disney that matched the glory of its classics. But, with "Rapunzel", I'd say that Disney has finally hit the mark. To me, Disney's 50th animated motion picture proves that they haven't lost that wonderful spark of magic that gave all its earlier classics so much life, warmth and heart.

In conclusion: it's good, guys, srsly go watch it.

Anyways, that's it for now. Until next time, folks!
