Kíli was one of the youngest of the thirteen Dwarves who set out on Thorin Oakenshield's quest to reclaim Erebor for the Dwarves. He was practically inseparable from his brother, Fíli and was always shown doing something alongside him.

I read The Hobbit ages and ages ago and loved it very much. In fact, if I had to pick my favourite between The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, I'd pick The Hobbit hands down.

So, when I heard that Peter Jackson would be helming a film version, I was thrilled! Finally, we'll get to see Bilbo in his own adventure with the Dwarves to 'burgle' some Dragon-gold, far away from his little hobbit-hole! I already can't wait for the first part to come out!

I adored the Dwarves' designs for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and I expect I shall be drawing more of them real soon. This I worked on for the better part of a month. Had a lot of trouble with the details on his clothes, especially the ornate strap crossing his shoulder. The sepia tone happened because of my scanner. Also, the slight blurring on the left is because of the rings of my sketchbook.

Done with 6H, HB, 2B, 4B and 8B pencils (plus a cotton bud) in my sketchbook.
